Jordan Brand is celebrating Michael Jordan’s switch over to the baseball diamond for the first time this year with two “Birmingham Barons” releases in the Air Jordan CV3018-001 2011 in White Black-Anthracite and the Air Jordan 10. What often goes unreported is the negative backlash Michael Jordan faced, the type that came with being the greatest basketball player and seemingly hanging up your signature sneakers to do the unthinkable, switch sports and leave a legacy behind. To help the historic transition, Spike Lee got in on the action, filming a commercial with the slogan: “Hey but, he’s trying” which fit right in with the Just Do It campaign. He even got Ken Griffey Jr. in on the action. Today’s vintage gear is a piece of apparel from that era that features Mars Blackmon on the front of the shirt holding a baseball with the back reading “Yo Money, Play Ball.” What do you think of this rare find? Hit the gallery to get a better view and grab it today Gifted only to Jordan Brand athletes.
