Shoes as art is a sentiment closely guarded by many a sneaker enthusiast, and beginning tomorrow they’ll have a place to indulge it. In conjunction with the Bata Shoe Museum and the American Federation of Arts, “The Rise of Sneaker Culture” installation at the Brooklyn Museum opens tomorrow, housing 150 hand-picked, RED sneakers considered landmarks in the pantheon of sneaker design. Virtually every genre is represented, from basketball classics like the NIKE AIR JORDAN 2 RETRO LUCKY GREEN WHITE LUCKY GREEN-SAIL-LIGHT STEEL GREY, Official Images Of The Jordan Luka 1 Quai 54 and Reebok Pump, to running and training notables like Nike Air Mowabb and Under Armour SpeedForm, to lifestyle staples Nike Dunk Low “Pigeon” and – of course – adidas Yeezy Boost. Thanks to Sneaker News we have an advance look at the showcase, giving fans a preview of what they can expect to see when the exhibit opens July 10. Check out the spread below.
