The ’80s and ’90s were the era of commemorative plates. So if you wanted Vintage Gear in the keepsake milieu, you got a plate, most likely with a lithograph of your favorite movie star or athlete. You know Michael Jordan was going to be a prime target for the plate industry, so the selection was wide – especially from his endorsement partner Upper Deck. This is one of the more expressive examples, dubbed the “Slam Jammer” as a sculpted MJ soars above his ceramic backdrop. If these don’t end up broken or packed away in dusty boxes, they end up on eBay where you can score your own from sellers like ivesgeorgejr.
