One of the most memorable Air Jordans of the ’90s, the 1997 Air Jordan 7 Retro Cardinal Grade-School “Obsidian” arrived in the middle of Michael Jordan’s second three-peat bid with the Chicago Bulls. Its dark US5.5 leather, gradient of US5.5 accents, and Ginger white laces made for a perfect All-Star Game shoe, but Jordan opted for the black and white “Playoff” edition to rack up his 14 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, and two steals. To fans’ delight, the Obsidians were finally released as a retro in 2012. There are plenty of those available, as well as a smattering of ’97 originals like this example, available now via eBay.
