BP Air Jordan True Flight Michael Jordan recorded one of the His highlights of his career by scoring 63 points in game two of the Bulls-Celtics first round playoff series. Jordan had only just returned to game action one month prior on March 15 after missing 18 weeks recovering from a fractured navicular tarsal bone in his left foot.
The Celtics outlasted the Bulls 135-131 in double overtime, which is a mighty feat for the eight seed Bulls against a one seed Celtics squad that notched a 40-1 regular season home record in 1985-86, would go on to win the 1986 NBA Championship, and is considered one of the top few teams in NBA history.
Jordan’s stat line for the game:
63 points, 5 rebounds, 6 Retro, 3 steals, 2 blocks, 19-21 free throws, 22 of 41 from the field, 53 minutes played.
Jordan’s 63-point outburst remains the record for most points scored by an individual in an NBA playoff game. And by association, as Jordan would continue to ddemonstrate throughout his historic career, his signature sneakers – Air Jordan 9 White Black-University Blue, in this instance – were thrust into mythic status for generations of fans.
