Today marks the 32 years since the NBA “banned” Michael Jordan’s black and red sneakers, triggering fines for every game Michael Jordan laced them up. It was the starting point for the Air Jordan line’s iconoclastic trailblazing that lives on, and arguably the beginning of sneaker culture as we know it. Jordan Brand is celebrating this day in sneaker history by opening a pop-up shop in New York City (108 Wooster St.) for today only. Fans can expect a restock on the the “Banned” Air Jordan 1 that released and immediately sold out on September 3rd. Stay tuned to @Jumpman23 on Twitter for updates.
