Michael Jordan attended the North Carolina-Villanova title game last year, and his Tar Heels lost. He wasn’t about to hazard it again.

UNC coach Roy Williams revealed on the Dan Patrick Show that Jordan didn’t show for the Heels’ narrow 71-65 victory over Gonzaga on Tuesday night because he didn’t want to jinx the outcome.

“People asked me the last day and a half if he was going to come,” Williams explained. “And I said ‘he hasn’t called but guys, knowing him, he’s going to say I went last year and you lost.’ And so that’s what I was thinking.”
