Air Jordan “Fab Five” Honors Michigan’s Greatest Freshmen Hoops Class

Through the fog of the University of Michigan’s tenure with adidas, it might be easy to forget that UM and Nike were inextricably at one time. In the early 1990s, the school’s “Fab 5” class of Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King, and Ray Jackson arguably changed college basketball and hoops style forever. They stormed the court like a perfect machine, wore extra baggy shorts, black Legendary, and some of Nike’s hottest sneakers of the day like the Air Flight Huarache and Air Force Max.

It’s from that inspiration that Tinker Hatfield created the Air Jordan “Fab Five” player exclusive edition. Michigan’s maize yellow is front and center in nubuck, with its famous block “M” on the tongue, rally cry “Hail To The Victors” on the tongue backs, smoked soles, and more. While celebs like Mark Wahlberg, DJ Khaled and other friends and family of Jordan Brand will get to wear these, the general public will have to check these out in photos only.
