Is Jordan Brand’s Nike Air branding trend a sign of more retros to come with the beloved signage, or simply a judicious revving of the retro sales engine?
Beginning with the Air Jordan 3 Retro ’88 in 2013, we’ve seen the Nike Air touch appearing more and more on original editions – Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG, plenty of Air Jordan 6 “Maroon” preview deconstructed, even the newly crafted air jordan 1 low gs chicago home white black red 553560 160 release date info. And, maybe the most exciting of the bunch, the air jordan 7 laser elephant chi mcbride “White/Cement” due up for release in mid-February 2016.
This particular photo set lets us in on what to expect at that time – a retro as true to its original counterpart for the first time since the 1999-2000 era. Nike Air notwithstanding, and barring any changes, the AJ4’s lace ports and appropriately angled mesh netting are huge re-introductions to the retrosphere. It’s a good bet the majority of Jordan fans are already rejoicing, the only question left is release specifics.
The AJ6 “Maroon” (December 5) is priced out at $220, so expect these to meet or exceed that mark. More details to come.
