In February 2015, Michael Jordan asked longtime Jordan Brand creative Tinker Hatfield to helm the XXX, sending Hatfield into overdrive to create just the right shoe, with a little help from a photo of Jordan’s iconic 1988 free-throw line dunk. From there, Hatfield crafted the silhouette into “Mr. Cosmos,” a celestial abstract on Jordan’s timeless, otherworldly talent.
