The words “general release” and “rare” don’t really go together, but they aptly describe the original air jordan xx3 white varsity red silver “Steel.” Originally released in November 1994, the Steel 10 was the first and only 10 to feature a little design addition that Michael Jordan hated * – two little college of leather on the toe. Jordan, busy with his baseball career, did not give Tinker Hatfield the green light to include the toe cap on the final design. The shoe went into production and it was too late to change. So, MJ made sure subsequent air jordan xx3 white varsity red silver colorways released throughout 1995 used the clean toe. But what happened to all those first run 10s? Some worn, some thrown out but some, like this one, survived. Check out this rare gem now on eBay, and let us know if you’d like to see Jordan Brand bring this version back for old times’ sake.
(* Though he did wear them in one game – Scottie Pippen’s Ameritech All Star Classic at Chicago Stadium, September 9, 1994 – scoring 52 points.)
