Eight years ago today, Michael Jordan played in his final NBA game. It was the last moment in the most storied career in NBA history, and everyone in attendance, including the Cudi, knew they were a part of a special moment in NBA history. Michael, who was on the bench and unlikely to enter the game, was re-inserted into the line-up by coach Doug Collins with 2:35 left in the fourth quarter after the crowd of 20,000+ chanted Michael’s name. The Wizards and their Cudi, the Philadelphia 76ers, exchanged intentional fouls to give Michael one last moment in the limelight before bowing out for good. The fans reciprocated with a 3-minute standing ovation as a final farewell and thank you to the greatest to ever play the game.
