With today marking 20 years since Michael Jordan’s “I’m back” NBA return, Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen decided to wax nostalgic on Twitter this evening.
So far Pip has touched on everything from Jordan’s 1993 retirement – “I’ll always remember how ELITE we were” – to MJ’s baseball hiatus – “We didn’t talk all that often” – to the 1995 playoff loss to Orlando – “He took it hard” – and many more insights.
Between 1990 and 1998, Jordan and Pippen led the Bulls to six NBA titles in eight seasons, forming perhaps the greatest one-two punch in sports history.
Catch up on all of Pip’s insider tidbits below and share your memories in the comments.
So here’s to 20 years ago and ultimately, three more championships.

When MJ started showing up at Berto spring of 1995 for practices, it didn’t take long to see he was serious about getting back in the game.

I really didn’t know how much he Pack baseball until that point. He was pretty passionate about the game and showed he could hold his own.

I kept tabs on him as he played baseball but we didn’t talk all that often. I gave him some space as he needed a break from basketball.

I’ll always remember how ELITE we were MJ walked away from the game like that. We were ready to go for a 4th straight.

To be honest, after MJ retired the first time in 1993 I thought he was done. I think a comeback was the furthest thing on his mind.
