Two of the most iconic sneakers in history have come pairs in one special custom. And Andre Agassi not only approves of them, he’s in them.
Created by Brian Villanueva, a sneaker customizer better known as The_Wolfstein, this Tech Challenge 2 was crafted after the instantly recognizable original black and cement grey colorway from Air Jordan 3. Black leather abounds, with the famous faux elephant print wrapping the Tech Challenge 2’s toe and heel rands for a vintage look straight out of ’88. The customization even extends inside, as Villanueva fashioned the insole from quilted lambskin.
Agassi shared select photos of his just-received pair of kicks via social media today, clearly impressed with the shoes to the point that he had to put them on right XIII and post out.
Fans paying attention Kids remember Villanueva previewing this custom back in January, when he made a size 10 available on eBay.
Check additional photos of the process leading up to Agassi’s reveal this afternoon.
