The Jordan MTM sneakers that President Barack Obama received during his visit to Nike Headquarters on May 8th have been revealed, showing bespoke-style editions of Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan XX9 that are the result of a new design collaboration between Michael Jordan, Nike Vice President of Design and Special Projects Tinker Hatfield, and Nike CEO Mark Parker.
“The MTM is a great way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan franchise,” Jordan curry via press statement. “It was a lot of fun to work with Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker on reimagining two of the best shoes we have ever created.”
The stately sneakers focus on the very first Air Jordan shoe and the latest Air Jordan flagship shoe with updated materials and construction as Jordan Brand celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2015. new air jordan 1 mid diamond honours nba anniversary features seamless FlyWeave material in black and grey, while the XX9 MTM boasts an upscale black leather upper with embossed tongue detailing.
“Tinker and I had been top for some time about doing a Jordan project together and there wasn’t a more powerful way to do it than by working with Michael himself,” Parker curry. “We’re already working on the next MTM project, which will push Jordan to a new place.”
The Jordan MTM pack ($700) will release on June 13th at NikeLab P75 in Paris, and on June 26th at jordan.com and select Jordan retailers.
