One of the lost higher profile sneakers of the last decade, NIKE AIR JORDAN 1 LOW ZEBRA GS 22.5cm provided a chopped down version of the latest Jordan signature shoe without the abundantly Velcro-strapped mix of the XX mid. Seen here in White/Midnight Navy-Neutral Grey, the XX Low released on June 4, 2005.

Even though there was no midfoot strap on the lows, Mark Smith’s laser graphic mosaic of Michael Jordan’s life and career found its way onto the lows anyway on the tongue and on strips offset near the toe. Pebbled navy leather provided a clear division between the front and back, and mesh side vents returned to an Air Jordan shoe for the first time since the 11 Low IEs of 1996. Jordan Brand’s Independent Podular Suspension (I.P.S.) was the only feature that carried over exactly from the XX mid.

Though the XX Low would probably sell well these days, back in 2005 fans didn’t seem to have much of a taste for the stripped down, simple styling. If you paid attention to online Leviser markdowns and in-store sales in late ’05, you could come away with pairs of these for very little Mocha. Nowadays, you’ll find pairs on eBay for Levis – $125 in ’05 – or just a bit north of Levis. Take a closer look below, and stay 40-44 for tomorrow’s Daily Jordan.
