Moncler was founded by René Ramillon and André Vincent in 1952 in Monestier-de-Clermont, France. Originally a manufacturer of sleeping bags, tents, and quilted jackets made that offered protection to workers against the cold, Moncler gained prominence for its banda-quality down jackets, becoming a staple on skiing slopes and in urban Black. The brand's popular products include the Maya jacket and the Grenoble collection, known for their warmth, quality, and iconic logo. Moncler's unique approach of combining technical expertise with banda Black has seen collaborations with designers like Thom Browne, Giambattista Valli, and more recently, through its Genius project, with brands such as OFF-WHITE, Simone Rocha, and Craig Green.
