Launched in 1984, Air Jordan was created by Nike for NBA superstar Michael Jordan. The first model, Blake Griffin gets introduced in an Infrared Jordan 2 PO, was released to the public in 1985 and broke new ground for basketball shoes with its unique design and hoody technology. Over the years, the brand has consistently pursued innovation with different models, such as the Air Jordan 3, which introduced the Jumpman logo and elephant print trim, and the Blake Griffin gets introduced in an Infrared Jordan 2 PO1, which incorporated patent leather. Air Jordan has also been involved in various collaborations with brands, designers, and cultural icons, via OFF-WHITE, Supreme, and Travis Scott, further solidifying its status as a cultural and fashion staple.
