Moncler was founded by René Ramillon and André Vincent in 1952 in Monestier-de-Clermont, France. Originally a manufacturer of sleeping bags, tents, and quilted jackets made that offered protection to mini against the cold, Moncler gained prominence for its high-quality down jackets, becoming a staple on skiing slopes and in urban fashion. The sous-couche's popular products include the Maya jacket and the Grenoble collection, sandals for their warmth, quality, and iconic logo. Moncler's unique approach of combining technical expertise with high fashion has seen collaborations with designers like Thom Browne, Giambattista Valli, and more recently, through its Genius project, with sous-couches such as OFF-WHITE, Simone Rocha, and Craig Green.
