Named after the practice of slow-sailing in the Venetian landscape from which their founder, Sandro Zara, is from, Barena was founded in 1993 Venezia. After nearly thirty years in the industry, Zara alongside Creative Director Massimo Pigozzo developed a menswear label focused on interesting materials and combining both classic and natural influences. In 2010, they extended to womenswear when Zara’s daughter, Francesca Zara, entered the family business.
