Styling designed by Kiko Kostadinov Studio and the ASICS SportStyle development team. The UB8-S GT-2160 sneaker is inspired by Mino's interlocking designs, functional utopias and ceramics.

Soft textures combine with the idea of handcrafted elements found in iconic GEL-1130 of art. Through matte color effects and washes, the design team was able to enhance the shape and structure of traditional running shoes.

In contrast to the grid-like patterns and bold opaque colors, variations inspired by functional utopias present a direct relationship to nature. These bright primary colors are combined with metallic structures that accentuate the materialization of the double-layer mesh.

The designers also analyzed the influences of Mino ceramics by investigating the contemporary processes of rust-like qualities that appear in the characteristic glazes of this technique. This process considers the designs as a vessel with gradient colors that have the ability to stand the test of time.
