When the label was founded in 2003, Eiichiro Homma had already spent nearly two decades cutting his teeth at Goldwin, channeling everything he had acquired — from experience in designing performance outerwear to a passion for technical materials — into his very own label.

But it isn’t just performance that underpins nanamica, with a heavy emphasis on aesthetics being crucial to the label. Technical fabrics, details and construction techniques are all married with a refined and elevated approach to design — resulting in garments that sit right at the intersection of fashion and utility.

Take the label’s SS22 collection — garments appear subtle and ready for the city at first glance, though stripping them back reveals a slew of technical materials have been used. There's outerwear constructed using GORE-TEX and lined with Coolmax®️ for comfort and weather protection, while tailored jackets and trousers are crafted from the label’s proprietary ALPHADRY material to make them breathable and quick drying. Each piece has been carefully crafted to ensure comfort in three different scenarios of everyday life: heading to the office, home-office wear and the label’s “one ocean, all lands” motto which refers to days spent relaxing.
