Having worked with the late Virgil Abloh as well as 1017 ALYX 9SM’s Matthew Williams, the success of Artist, DJ and designer Heron Preston’s eponymous label is no surprise. Launched in 2016, the New York based line has quickly become an icon of the streetwear scene, with each collection drawing from a range of electric influences to create Heron Preston women's unmistakable aesthetic.
Inspired by art, music and content creation, Preston’s encounters with New York grit and its utility and workwear aesthetic heavily influenced his label. With each highly anticipated collection, expect oversized hoodies, sweats and boxy T-shirts stamped with 3D designs and blurry graphics depicting the designer’s avian namesake. Uniform-inspired jackets, trousers and belts are adorned with the signature orange tab, a reference to the high-vis items he saw worn around the big apple. When it comes to Heron Preston, women expect to see the trademark translation of the Russian word for style, CTNMB. With its bold lettering reflecting the brand's purely industrial outlook by mirroring the layout of factory spec labels.
After seeing the extent to which the fashion industry has on the earth and its pollution, Preston fuses the creation of his womenswear lines with an awareness of global environmental issues, including a sustainable streetwear collection produced in collaboration with New York’s Department of Sanitation.
