For SSS22, Levi’s® and BEAMS join forces for the third time, transforming old-school Americana with a focus on super-wide fits.
When Levi’s® and BEAMS first partnered in 2019, the collaboration was something that seemed natural — inevitable, even. After full, since BEAMS’ inception in 1976, it’s been underpinned by a fervent appreciation for Americana, with many decades spent casting it through a Japanese lens. This season, the two are back together for their third collection, channeling that shared love of Americana once again.
The collection sees classic Levi’s® garments reworked and stretched into “Super-Wide” versions; the Trucker jacket, for instance, is a rework of Levi’s® Type 1 that has been stretched into a wider, baggier fit, while the pocket tee and jeans — a rework of Levi’s® classic button fly straight leg — are given the same relaxed treatment.
The “Super Wide” approach doesn’t just apply to the garment’s fits, either, with that famous classic back patch stretched out, pockets widened and even button flies given the treatment. Subtle, collaborative details appear throughout the collection, too, like the co-branded red tab — with a BEAMS’ version layered behind it — and the Japanese label’s signature orange worked into the selvedge seams of the jeans and the Trucker. To really drive home the capsule’s look, the denim comes in a classic, vintage-inspired faded wash.
