Vans Vault and WTAPS reprise their partnership once again, resulting in a four-pack of sneakers that combines both brands’ signature aesthetics. A perennial feature in both skateparks and the streets, the Old Skool is the canvas of choice here and it’s given a premium reworking. Luxe black suede covers the entirety of the uppers, save for the tonal leather jazz stripe, while the signature orange of Tetsu Nishiyama’s label appears across the skate-ready foxing tape. It’s the smaller details that make the sneaker, though. The coordinates of WTAPS’ Shibuya atelier and its WTVUA slogan both feature and bring the signature military-inspired edge with which the label is most often associated.
