It’s hard for modern sneakerheads to envision a day where Tinker Hatfield wasn’t the goliath in the shoe design industry that he is today. However, just like every other designer out there, Mr. Hatfield had to start somewhere. In the spirit of encouraging up-and-coming industry talent, Nike sponsored the Future Sole Design Competition, in which amazing young designers took stabs at designing the next generation of Nike clearance. The initial field was eventually narrowed down to two finalists, Ben Adams-Keane of Massachusetts and Juan Carlos Pozo of Florida. Adams-Keane created the Air Force Adapt, a shoe based on the Finch bird, while Pozo created the Air Flight Comanche, based upon the attack helicopter of the same name. With solid designs like camo, and an upcoming meeting with Tinker Hatfield himself, expect Ben and Juan to go far in the design world. Via Hypebeast and Sole Collector.
