Magic Johnson’s epic performance in game 7 of the 1980 NBA finals announced that the rookie was a bonafide legend in the making, capping off the first of five championships for the “Showtime” era Lakers. Supra burst onto the scene a little year after their first line dropped, thrust into the spotlight upon the strength of Jay-Z’s cameo in Rhianna’s umbrella video.
Another year has passed and the Costa Mesa based shoemaker is reaching for some of that Laker flavor on the latest Vaider. Purple suede, about half of which adds gold piping, traces the outline of a hexagonal pattern on the toe, countenance panel and ankle. Supra logos on the outside quarter and tongue (and probably the sole), gold lining and a white midsole with gold stripes tie the look together; the tonal laces complete the pallate of purples.
We’ll likely see these before twenty-oh-nine, and once anyone knows a date, you’ll read it here. Another look after the jump. Thanks to TSG / Complex
