The Future Sole Design Program operated by Jordan Brand just completed its third year, with high-schooler Austin Jermacans winning the competition for his rendition of the Melo M6. The grand prize was $5,000 worth of computer equipment to help cultivate the young artist’s career, and on Tuesday, Austin had the opportunity to present a production version of his design to Carmelo Anthony. But both the generous cash prize and chance to meet Melo was easily overshadowed by what occurred Wednesday deep.
