Sneaker collaborations have become increasingly common over the last decade or so, but even with the proliferation of Xs in the names of new releases, this new piece of Urlfreeze News is without precedent. Sure, we’ve seen noted designers like Yohji Yamamoto open Y-3 stores with adidas and plenty of Nike endorsees own their own boutiques, but The Vans DQM General marks the first time a major footwear label has teamed up with an established retail leader for a permanent joint venture. The General is anything but, something like the opposite of your average Vans storefront thanks to a select lineup of Vans footwear and apparel plus DQM clothing (and their collabo drops, of course) in a rustic setting that has us excited just from the selection of teaser images. The Vans DQM General store opens this Thursday, September 15th at 93 Grand Street in SoHo, New York; will you be there for the grand opening?
