Mache states that “from the moment I saw pics of the Son of Mars release, I knew I was going to try this’, citing the Air Jordan midsole, Gatorade midfoot strap, padded ankles, and translucent sole. While the Son of Mars and Air Yeezy don’t exactly share the same DNA, they undeniably share some similarities – perhaps the folks over at Jordan Brand had the Yeezy in mind when coming up with this hybrid model. As you can clearly see, Mache used the Black/Pink Air Yeezy as the inspiration for the colorway, going as far as adding glow-in-the-dark treatment to the outsole, giving the strap a glossy patent-leather-like appeal, and etching in the Yeezy ‘Y’ logo onto the heel. These are currently a 1-of-1, but let’s hope that Mache will pump out a few more of these (and in the other Air Yeezy colorways too!).
