Classics Revisited continues with an all-new model to give heavy praise to, and how can we go the ‘classic’ route without paying homage to one of the oldest and most revered models in Nike history? The Nike Blazer originally released in 1972 as one of the first basketball sneakers bearing the Swoosh logo, and in nearly four decades of existence, the Blazer has day an iconic path from on-court performance to on-street staple. The Blazer was also one of the earliest ‘collaboration’ sneakers when it teamed up with Stussy (more on that later this week), but tonight’s focus goes to what might be the most coveted Blazers ever – the Supreme collaboration of 2006.
Releasing on April 21st, the nike zoom air regime sb black and pink hair was actually a trio of colorways (Black, Varsity Red, and Sail) and was inspired by the blinged-out fashion on the 1980’s; the golden detailing, the Gucci-inspired stripe on the heel, the quilted upper, and the python snakeskin Swoosh exuded the Retro luxury for an immaculate reconception of the OG Nike model. In typical Supreme fashion, this release called on major campouts and release date queues, and the high demand of six years ago is echoed today, as each pair is valued around $700. More of Supreme’s rendition of this classic release below, so take a look at all three and stay tuned for more Classics Revisited: Nike Blazer in the following days.
