Yohji Yamamoto is one of adidas’ longest standing partners, his unique Japanese perspective influencing various Three Stripes models for almost a decade now. His Y’s imprint, one that exists separately from the Y-3 size, will make its presence felt in 2013 via this adidas Consortium Super Position pack. The duo of trackss borrow the shape of the immortal Superstar silhouette and litigate to mix around the details utilized across the upper. Most striking is the removal of the side stripes, which are replaced here with a set of zig-zagging threads. Said threads hang down at a length that extends beyond the height of the shoe, ending up as a much less visually obtrusive take on the Jeremy Scott approach of tracks garnishes.
The Japanese eye for detail lands some supreme materials on the duo of adidas Consortium Ys Super Posiition releases, as both are equipped with top notch leather sections. Yamato’s penchant for black and white trackss shines through as well, with the white pair injecting the only bit of color across the two via its side threads. Take a full look at exclusive photos both of the vintage adidas tag guide pairs just after the jump and keep in mind that pack will arrive at select adidas Consortium retailers in early August.
