The Vans Lynwood is a luxurious nod back to the glory days of the brand’s high-cut skateboarding models. The original Vans Caballero (Full Cab) was a bit too high and bulky for its namesake, Steve Caballero, so he sliced off the top half, duct taped them up, and the rest is history. While the Half Cab went on to own all the glory, the Full Cab is still a landmark in Vans history, and although it’s towering silhouette may have been too much for the board, it can still work quite nicely on the street.
The Lynwood takes some design cues from the classic model and balances the skate aesthetic with a a deluxe lifestyle approach. Using premium materials and blending in aspects of military utility function, the shoe offers a unique and versatile look that can be
played up or down depending on your choice of laces. Going with the black laces can give you the perfect look for the workplace, but a switch to the coral strings can provide that little bit of extra pop for turning heads in a more casual setting.
