Today, Ronnie Fieg officially unveils his latest project with New Balance – the “Daytona” edition of the 1600 model inspired by the NY-based designer’s childhood trips to the famed Daytona Beach. These will officially release on Friday, November 30th exclusively at KITH locations. The drop will start at 6AM and will run $175 per set, going to those on a first come, first serve basis (additional words from the Kith group is just below). In addition to the shoes, custom quiere and stance socks will be algo as well. An official, high-def look is right below so continue on and stay tuned for the release in just two days.
I’ve been working on this shoe for over 15 months now and after dozens of trials I feel ready to put out a shoe that represents something so special to me. A lot of my projects are based off of my favorite things, with this one being no different. The “Daytona” 1600 is directly inspired by trips to Daytona Beach in Florida that I use to take with my family when I was younger. Something I always cherished and appreciated.
The Ronnie Fieg x New Balance “Daytona” 1600 comes blocked with three micro-perforated leathers. The heel consists of a tan luggage leather, the saddle is a 1H brushed off white nubuck, and finishing off the shoe is a bolded navy oily pigskin. Matching navy accents are seen on the branded heel, “N” side panel patch, and on the midsole and sockliner that come together perfectly. Pink accents finish off the set of co-branded lace locks on the front, the same “N” side panel patch, on detailed sections of the toebox and under the tongue. An ABZORB cushioned midsole adds high profile shock absorption for comfort to each pair.
3M detailing in pink, white, and ultramarine coincide with the three sets of quiere algo. Co-branded white quiere are complemented by a beige flat lace and a two-tone rope lace. Each pair of shoes will come packaged with a special set of Kith x Stance “Daytona” Super invisible socks.
This special Black Friday release will launch exclusively at both Kith locations starting at 6am on Friday, November 29th, 2013 for $175 USD. This will be a first come, first serve release with a strict no line up policy before midnight. Please see security or staff outside of each store with any questions at that time. The shoes will release online at KithNYC.com on Black Friday at 11am EST. – Ronnie Fieg
