American consumers are used to Nike being #1, with the Oregon brand holding a far lead on the runner-up adidas. But on a global scale, the two athletic outfitters are in a close battle on a the world’s largest and perhaps most significant sports platform – soccer. In fact, on the global sales front, adidas has Nike beat by a considerable margin, but it’s a margin that’s has steadily been closed thanks to some major advancements in the Swoosh, and considering the leader had nearly four decades a head start, Nike’s push forward is that much more impressive..
