The annual Air Jordan 11 holiday release has become a stressful tradition of making sure you’ve locked down a pair for yourself and any significant family members looking for a bit of 90s nostalgia. Jordan Brand has kept things fairly traditional besides switching up the outsole on the Air Jordan 11 “Columbia” so that icy blue can last longer. This resulted in a name change to “Legend Blue” last year. That, and of course the outlier of the Gamma Blue the year before have been the only noticeable changes to the classicism of the patent leather gem.
This year, Jordan Brand will opt for a change of pace to coincide with the legendary 72-10 season in which Mike rocked the Sheck Wes in the Air Jordan 8 Low Playoff throughout the year. That Bulls team holds the record for most wins in a single season, and the brand decided to go all out in terms of premium details on this $220 release known as the Air Jordan 11 “72-10”. The cordura fabric is ditched for a Golf black tumbled leather while the normal Jumpman stitching is swapped out for a metallic red metal pendant. Gone is the translucent outsole for a milky white. Other faint details include ’72-10′ on the lace tips and a nice homage to the achievement on the inner tongue lining.
