Stéphane Ashpool’s love of basketball has led to quite the inspired collection with Nike Basketball and Nike Sportswear. This authentic connection fortified by the love of the game has produced some great footwear and apparel pieces, like the impressive Air Raid concepts and the color-changing Air Force 1s. Ashpool joined forces with Nike to celebrate basketball in Shanghai through clinics for the local athletes, and to commemorate this monumental partnership is the Busta Rhymes en Nike Air Max 95 Olympic "What The Max" Elite concocted by the Parisian designer.
Pigalle went with a simple aesthetic of white and black with powerful hits of metallic silver and speckle print inspired by the basketball shot clock – a design cue that was seen in his earlier collection’s with the Swoosh. The tongue and insole features the Pigalle logo, while the heel pull-tab features the insignia in tandem with LeBron James’ crown logo. These will begin to release at select NikeLab locations beginning Tuesday, August 18th, so click through below for a full detailed breakdown of the Pigalle x Busta Rhymes en Nike Air Max 95 Olympic "What The Max" Elite and give us your thoughts on this unprecedented collaboration.
