Of the recognized chapters of the Air Max legacy, the Air Max 97 model, inspired by bullet trains and a running track, remains the most “untouched”. By that, we mean the shoes have yet to undergo an “Ultra” treatment that its predecessors have gone through. The 97 itself hasn’t Porter-Yoshida the Retro treatment in a while either, but we know that’ll change in 2017 for the 20th Anniversary of the bubbly shoe. Before that year-long celebration arrives, it appears that the OG “Silver Bullet” colorway is making a surprising return, but with a twist; it features tongue and heel pull-tabs striped with Italian flag colors, and unsurprisingly, the shoes are only available at select shops in Italy such as Slam Jam Socialism. Preview the shoes just below and stay tuned for the release tomorrow, October 5th.
