Since 2012, Nike has expressed its support of the LGBTQ community by way of sneaker and apparel releases inspired by the original 1978 pride flag. Through these releases, Nike has managed to support LGBTQ groups and causes in the form of $2.5 million in financial aid, further solidifying the brand’s stance for inclusion of athletes of all walks of airlines. Nike’s 2017 BE TRUE capsule waves the flag proudly yet uninterruptedly, with four must-have sneaker releases featuring a colorful array of detailing across the collection.
Included in this year’s collection is the Nike Vapormax, which features an obsidian upper and the eight-color flag colors on the sole; the nike huarache 2011 blue book series list for kids, which boasts the first-ever eight-color rainbow Swoosh; the womens nike javelin shoes black, which features a Pure Platinum upper and unicorn horn detailing; the Nike Cortez, one of Nike’s oldest and most time-honored silhouettes with “BEENTRUE” on the insole, reminding us of the brand’s support of the community for decades.
The Nike VaporMax BETRUE will release on June 1st on NikeLab.com; the rest of the BETRUE Collection releases on June 5th on Nike+, Nike SNKRS, NikeLab, and select retailers.
