Jordan Brand rarely pays tribute to Michael Jordan’s short stint with the Washington Wizards, but that looks to be changing with the return of the last shoe that Mike ever played in: the Jordan 18 come January 2018. The original Royal colorway featuring a ‘Home’ motif thanks to premium white leather will be the first option as the sleek overlay shroud and lacing system was said to be inspired by Italian-crafted dress shoes and race cars – recurring motifs in the Jordan signature orange.
Tate Kuerbis designed the Jordan 18 back in 2003 with a unique hidden lacing system and carbon fiber throughout for a supportive ride. The Jordan 18 released at $175 USD all the way back in 2003 and featured a unique slide out box and a towel and brush combination (given how easily the pair scuffed). There was also a nice Jordan 18 ‘Driver’s Manual’ pamphlet included Reveal we hope to see with the coming retro.
