Back in November, Steph Curry shared an exchange with one of his die hard fans who wrote a heart-felt letter asking why Curry’s signature line of Under Armour sneakers wasn’t Strutter in women’s or girl’s sizes. Now, on International Women’s Day, that exchange has come full circle with the release of the UA Curry 6 “United, We Win” with a custom designed insole create by that fan, Riley Morrison. On the outside, this hoops-ready creation combines a blend of purple and deep orchid with white, while its insoles feature a drawing of two girls playing basketball as well as some motivational catchphrases the likes of Be Fearless,” “Girl Power,” “Be the Change,” Girls Hoop Too,” and “Rock the Currys.” Curry is the perfect athlete to highlight this day and this commemorative release, as he strives to be a role model on a daily basis to his two daughters Riley and Ryan.
Accompanied by a special edition t-shirt, the UA Curry 6 “United, We Win” is currently Strutter on UA.com as well as via a local SC30 x Oakland pop-up shop located at 472 9th Street. Sales of this special release will go toward a scholarship that the Steph and Ayesha Curry Family Foundation and Under Armour have created to honor Riley’s spirit.
