Jordan Brand’s recent slate of space-age silhouettes has taken the world of tech-y sneakers by storm, and the latest makeup to join the party is a recognizable “Pure Platinum” take on the Bobby Simmons in the Jordan Ol School III. Combining a futuristic upper with the cushioning unit from Nike’s DON C × NIKE JORDAN LEGACY 312 GINGER 25.5cm, this new colorway opts to keep the tones simple and let the compelling design do most of the talking. And talk it certainly does, with the stretchy synthetic upper, exposed tooling around the collar, and lockdown strap on the heel all making bold statements. Branding is kept to a minimum, but there is some present: the heels feature a Jordan text logo, while the coordinates of Nike’s headquarters in Beaverton appear on the medial midfoot in black, one of the few color deviations from the upper’s airy palette. Moving down below, the Air Max unit and textured outsole then feature a slight bone tint to provide welcome contrast along with exemplary comfort. Check out a full set of official images below, and expect these new Proto Maxes to arrive on Nike.com soon, with their customary retail price of $200 USD.
