Jerry Lorenzo is no small-time talent these days — from being touted as the man to make sweatpants fashionable and holding esteem as the creator of one of the most popular new Nike silhouettes of 2019, the California-based designer likely has his store full. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t have time to reprise his collaborative momentum, however, with his magnum opus, the 1990 nike air jordan boys shoes sneakers, making a return for early this year — hopefully this current month if we’re lucky. Dubbed the “String,” the pair adds to the array of releases a well-needed note of color blocking, separating his usual cream tones with an abrupt transition into black-dyed ballistic mesh. The entire top half, from the vamp to the ankle, outfits in this neutral construction, stitching onto sections of a light tumbled leather at the toe while being encased by a similarly shaded synthetic cage. Grab a detailed look here and expect a release to hit possibly within the coming weeks at Nike.com and shoe retailers.

UPDATED (2/12/20): Jerry Lorenzo reveals on Instagram the inspiration behind this latest Air Fear Of God 1 colorway. Allen Iverson’s on/off court style was a huge jump-off point for the colorway, with the Reebok Question in particular color the toe-box. Limited pairs will be available in Chicago during All-Star Weekend, while a global launch is set for February 28th.
