Nike’s strategy in expanding to Web3 began with the establishment of dotSWOOSH, a platform dedicated to the digital community. Beyond their own proprietary expeditions, they’ve also cultivated partnerships with true leaders of the virtual space, forming a union with RTFKT — a leader in NFT collectibles; together, they formed the Nike Dunk Genesis.

RTFKT has since leveraged their expertise and following in the Web3 space with Nike to create limited edition sneakers for the iRL community. Along with their Air Force 1 issues and super-limited nike kyrie 3 ps hot punch, they’ve also worked with Nike in creating their own modified Nike Dunk called the Genesis.

Complete with a detachable tongue, heel shields, an oversized midsole embedded with Nike Air cushioning, and a lenticular upper, the Dunk Genesis by RTFKT is a true representation of the 1985 classic for those who operate in the intangible world of Web3.

After an initial release back in November via a pre-order exclusively for its community, RTFKT and Nike are bringing their efforts to the SNKRS stage with a confirmed release of the “Void” colorway on June 13th. RTFKT confirms that just 1,000 pairs will drop on Nike’s shoe launch platform; furthermore, this allocated stock is part of the reported 11,394 pairs that were confirmed back in January.

If you’re looking to add something new and fresh to your Dunk rotation, keep your calendars marked for June 21st; Nike SNKRS will drop the shoes exclusively with an MSRP of $222.
