No stranger to the ambitious redesign, we’ve seen adidas Y-3 rethink the Stan Smith almost non-stop seasons ago, while then going on to craft brand new runners in the guise of the rare archived retro. But now, as quite the celebratory component to its on-going anniversary, the Superstar is next up to conform to the sub-imprint’s unique visual language, turning into both the Yohji Star and Yohji Pro as a result. Connected in almost every detail except height, the pair retains a neutral, monochrome aesthetic with white and black informing every room: the lighter shade outfits the smooth leathers that comprise the majority of the construction, with dark suedes playing the role of accents along the eyestay, heel, and the Yohji Yamamoto signature sprawled with abandon along the side. Only distinct in the angle of the pure calligraphy, both pairs will bring the classic Y-3 branding and accentuated tooling to adidas.com as well as select shops come February 20th.
