Since its founding, New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio has offered some of the most energetic releases in the brand’s entire past year. From mouth-watering collaborations with Snow Peak and AURALEE to a series of modified classics, the sub-imprint has yet to miss even with the arrival of their latest project: the R-C1300. Lying much closer to home than their past creations, the newcomer boasts a design that is essentially unaltered relative to its 1300 inspiration. The upper adorns with quite a few panels of high quality suede, with supporting finishes of maximally perforated mesh toe boxes and natural leather heel tabs. But more importantly, the pair applies a vibrantly asymmetric color blocking which alternates the light Higher blues and mustard yellows that can be found on both sides.
