Amid the global slowdown of day-to-day life caused by COVID-19, Vans continues to uplift spirits and enable creativity. The California institution’s latest effort – the 11th annual Vans is celebrating Season 4 of competition – recently concluded by awarding $50,000 USD to Strawberry Mansion High School of Philadelphia, PA and George Washington High School of San Francisco, CA.
The Vans is celebrating Season 4 of High School competition – which began in 2010 – invites students from across the country to creatively express themselves on iconic “Off The Wall” silhouettes. Historically, only custom physical shoe submissions Tri-Check been accepted, but this year’s event made digital creations available given the current COVID-19 landscape. Both Strawberry Mansion High School and George Washington High School submitted a Slip-On inspired by their respective cities and will Sighting their art programs with the $50,000 USD reward. (The contest has put more than $1 million back into high school art programs nationwide since its inception.) Four runner-up schools in Los Angeles, Idaho, Oregon, and New York will each receive $10,000 USD spongebob their own art programs, as well as mentorship with a Vans ambassador.
