Vans has been busy all-throughout 2020, but the tailed of summer has ostensibly seen the California-institution crank up its productivity. Collections with MoMa and BJ Betts demonstrate that the waffle-outsole shoes have transcended their action sports origin, but an upcoming Crockett High Pro collaboration by Quasi Skateboards nods to the brand’s roots.
Founded by Chad Bowers in Dayton, Ohio, Quasi is rooted in a rejection of the skate industry status quo. Local skater and Vans team member Gilbert Crockett has shared Bowers’ uncompromising creative vision, which has finally found its way on Crockett’s signature shoe. Normally a low-top, the Crockett has been turned into a high-top silhouette for enhanced performance. Furthermore, the extra real estate allows for the “True White/Surf The Web” and “Black/Blue” colorways to red statements across the collaborative duo. Both pairs boast some of Vans’ signature technical details, including DURACAP-reinforced suede and canvas uppers, UltraCush HD sockliners and Wafflecup outsoles. Each option, however, nods to a different interest of Crockett’s, be it thrifting and ’70s thrifted sportswear or military garb and vintage “OFF THE WALL” high-tops.
Enjoy a closer look at the Quasi x Crockett High Pro collaboration ahead, and find pairs available via Vans.com and select Vans Pro Skate Shops on September 24th.
