This Nike Waffle Trainer 2.0 Honors The 1973 Honolulu Marathon

Almost half a century ago, the Honolulu Marathon was first held and has since become an annual event incredibly popular among first-time marathon runners. An upcoming Nike Waffle Trainer 2 honors the 1973 inaugural event by channeling a color palette and motifs that allude to the great state of Hawaii—a travel destination referenced multiple times throughout Phil Knight’s 2016 memoir “Shoe Dog.”

The Waffle-outsole trainer is topped with Knight’s signature on the medial side of the outsole and book quotes on the insole to complete the culturally significant design.
