As the Nike Dunk continues to dominate the sneaker space, Peter Moore’s original design has kept things “fresh” by collaborating with newcomers, dressing up in non-heritage-inspired colorways and indulging in “facelifts.”
The model continues being offered in High, Mid and Low iterations, but has garnered attention from women sneaker enthusiasts by way of modified designs like the Air Max 95 Black Electric Green. Unlike its predecessor, which debuted in late 2020, the latest reinterpretation of Moore’s 37-year-old creation abandons the overtly-chunky sole unit for a sleeker proposition. Uppers, however, are a lot busier than on the silhouette’s standard construction, boasting layered panels, dual profile swooshes, contrasting stitching lines and “crowded” heel areas. The latest “Desert Bronze” option works in-tandem with “Pink Prime” flair to showcase the full scope of the second Disrupt design, while delivering yet another original color combination to women sneaker collectors. Lastly, sock-liners included with the pair confirm that the predominantly brown Dunks are part of NIKE, Inc.’s “Move to Zero” initiative, which constructs footwear with materials made up of at least 20% recycled content.
